Pease and Peirce combine for 21 digs and four service aces for Falcons
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University women's volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to the Pilgrims of New England College in non-conference action this evening at the Parkinson Gymnasium.

How It Happened
New England College opened the match with a 25-17 win in the first set, before taking the second set by a score of 25-15. The Pilgrims rallied from an early 6-1 deficit to ultimately close out the contest with a 25-21 set three win to secure its fifth win on the season.
Fitchburg State was led by senior Serene Pease (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) with a team-best 14 digs and one service ace, while freshman Jessica Peirce (Brentwood, N.H./Exeter) added seven digs and three service aces. Junior Nicole Sylvester (Everett, Mass./Everett) and classmate Kathryn Carroll (Shrewsbury, Mass./Shrewsbury) were also solid for the Green and Gold, combining for ten digs, four blocks, six assists and two service aces.
For the Pilgrims, junior Meaghan Six (Manchester, N.H./Manchester Memorial) finished a game-leading 17 digs, four assists, one service ace, while freshman Gabryella Serrano (Bridgewater, Mass./Brockton) chipped in with eight assists and 12 digs. Newcomer Kennedy Somavia (Red Bluff, Calif./Red Bluff) rounded out the top performers for New England College, collecting eight assists two service aces and four digs.

Freshman Jessica Peirce (Brentwood, N.H./Exeter) (0.78), junior Kristina Osborne (Ashby, Mass./North Middlesex) (0.68) and senior Serene Pease (Ashland, Mass./Ashland) (0.63) rank 2nd, 3rd and 4th in the MASCASC in service aces per set.
The Falcons travel to Framingham State on Friday evening to take on the Rams for MASCAC tilt starting at 6 p.m. New England College will visit Regis College on Wednesday for contest starting at 6 p.m.
