FITCHBURG, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior pitcher Richard Sharp (Townsend, Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.
The second-year hurler picked up his first weekly honor of the season after posting an ERA of 0.00, going 7.2 innings with six strikeout and three hits in the Falcons 5-0 season opening, 5-0 shutout victory against Salve Regina University on Friday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State baseball team (2-1, 0-0MASCAC) returns to action on Tuesday as it travels to Newbury College to take on the Nighthawks for a non-conference tilt, starting at 3:00 PM.
