Falcons Shine at Jerry Gravel Invitational
Murphy Tops in 1500m and 800m
Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State women's outdoor track and field team returned to action this morning as they competed in the 2021 Jerry Gravel Invitational hosted by Westfield State University.
How It Happened
First year Abigail Murphy (Quincy, Mass.) continues her strong season picking up wins in both the 1500m with a time of 5:12.34 and the 800m (2:31.28).
Senior Olivia Mullins (Plaistow, NH) posted a personal record in the 5000m with a time of 20:53.62 for a second place finish.
In the pole vault, freshman Darcy Lally (Portland, Maine) was runner-up and tied her season best with a jump of 2.30m.
Inside the Numbers
- Junior Lilah McAndrew (Old Lyme, Conn.), 7th place in the 1500m (5:34.05)
- Selina Gibbons (Littleton, Mass) had a pair of 8th place finishes in the 100m (13.77) and 200m (28.56) and 7th in the long jump (4.28m)
- Senior Brianna Young (Mansfield, Mass.), 4th place hammer throw (29.71), 4th shot put (9.81m) and 5th discus (22.28m)
