Worcester, Mass. – Junior Brandon Lefebvre (Leominster, Mass.) delivered a two-out single to left center to vault Fitchburg State past Worcester State 13-12 in the tenth inning to finish off a halted game from April 3rd that was suspended (12-12) after nine innings due to darkness.
The contest was game 1 in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this afternoon at Rockwood Park. The two teams will now play a pair of seven inning games.

How It Happened
The Green and Gold took a 6-0 lead in the fifth with freshman Vincent Eramo (Shirley, Mass.) collecting an RBI single before junior Brennan Cuddahy (Leominster, Mass.) launched a three-run shot over the right field fence for the 6-0 lead.
Worcester State cut the deficit to 7-6 in the bottom of the seventh as junior Kevin Larkin (Rocky Hill, Conn.) and senior Seth Leslie (Phillipston, Mass.) notching RBI base hits, but Fitchburg State would up its lead to 12-7 in the top of the eighth when Macomber and Cuddahy collecting two-run singles.
The two teams traded five run innings in the eighth before the Lancers knotted the contest at 12-12 in the bottom of the ninth with senior Michael Ferrara (Easton, Mass.) singling to up the middle to force extra innings.
Junior Joshua Macomber (Berkley, Mass.) reach on an Worcester miscue to start the top of the tenth frame. A pair of groundout moved Macomber to third setting up Lefebvre's game-winning hit.
Sophomore Shaun Gamelin (West Kingstown, RI) pitched a clean 10th inning to notch his second win of the season.
