Abt & Riordan notch two hits each for Falcons
Auburndale, FL – The Fitchburg State University Baseball team suffered a tough 11-4 setback to the Britons of Albion College this morning on day two action of the 2026 RussMatt Invitational at the Lake Myrle Field #5.

How It Happened
Game One
Albion opened the scoring in the bottom of the second as Jonjay Arreazola laced a two-run double to score Drew Ribble and Logan DeVos for the 3-0 advantage before the Britons upped the score to 4-0 in following frame with Logan Farmer registering an RBI single that plated Gavin White.
Fitchburg State cut the deficit to 4-1 in the top of the fourth when freshman Erick Dawson (Mattapoisett, MA) grounding out to bring in senior Maxwell Riordan (Pepperell, MA) to make the score 4-1.
Trailing 8-1 in the top of the eighth, the Falcons responded as senior Joseph Abt (Newbury, MA) notched an RBI single to drive in newcomer Anthony Wozniak (Leominster, MA) to cut the deficit to 8-2.
Albion pushed the lead to 11-2 in the bottom of the eighth, pushing across three runs before the Green and Gold responded in the top of the ninth when newcomer Nathaniel Badzmierowski (Uxbridge, MA) ripped an RBI double that scored junior Ryan Lopes (Fall River, MA), while Wozniak followed with an RBI double to drive in Badzmierowski, resulting in the 11-4 final.
