Falcons drop nailbiter to WPI
Northborough, MA – The Fitchburg State University Baseball team dropped a 3-2 decision to WPI this afternoon in non-conference action.

How It Happened
WPI struck first in the bottom of the first inning as Jonathan Lattimer delivered an RBI double to plate Matt Shea for the early 1-0 lead. Fitchburg State answered in the fourth inning when Maxwell Riordan drove in Jason Kelly with an RBI single to even the score at 1-1.
After several scoreless frames, the Engineers regained the lead in the seventh inning on a solo home run by Liam Keblin to make it 2-1.The Falcons responded in the eighth inning as Riordan launched a solo home run to tie the contest at 2-2. WPI quickly answered in the bottom half of the inning when Jack Zawacki connected on a solo home run, giving the Engineers a 3-2 advantage they would not relinquish.
