Baseball Topped By Bears In MASCAC Clash
Abt collects two hits for Green & Gold
Bridgewater, MA – The Fitchburg State University Baseball team dropped a 6-1 decision to the Bears of Bridgewater State this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from Alumni Park.

How It Happened
Bridgewater State opened the scoring in the top of the first as Benjamin Sepeck doubled to left center to bring in Nick Berube before Cam Beltramini doubled to right center, scoring Sepeck and Joshua Selander for the 3-0 advantage.
Fitchburg State answered in the bottom of the first when junior Jason Kelly (E. Bridgewater, MA) drew a leadoff walk and came around to score on an RBI double down the right field line off the bat of senior Joseph Abt (Newbury, MA) to make the score 3-1.
The Bears pushed the lead to 4-1 in the top of the fourth with Rylan Secovich registering an RBI infield single that plated Jamie Luna. The hosts extended the margin to 5-1 in the top of the seventh as Selander laced an RBI single to center to bring in Ryan Flaherty.
Bridgewater State secured the victory in the top of the eighth when Luna singled to right field to plate Beltramini, resulting in the 6-1 final.
