Football Falls Short to Westfield on Senior Day
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State football team celebrated 16 seniors who will be departing the team and Fitchburg State in today's loss to the Owls of Westfield State in MASCAC action, 10-7.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 11/15/25
- Score: Westfield 10, Fitchburg 7
- Records: Westfield (3-7, 3-6 MASCAC)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- This was a very low-scoring affair. The first points didn't come until the closing 30 seconds of the first half. The Owls' Andrew Currier would line up for a 42-yard field goal attempt and nail it.
- The second half had only two scores in it, with both coming in the third quarter. Fitchburg would gain the lead on a 27-yard pick-six by Jan Valls (Worcester, MA) for his fifth interception of the season and third defensive touchdown.
- The 7-3 lead wouldn't last long as the Owls would drive down the field and score their lone touchdown of the game. Curtis Dion would find his way into the endzone on a 23-yard scamper and score on a jet sweep. Currier would hit the PAT and get the game to the final of 10-7.
