Shimiyimana Named Men’s Indoor Track Field of the Week

Worcester, Mass. native earns first weekly accolade of the season 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Eric Shimiyimana (Worcester. Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Field of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The fourth-year Falcon notches his first weekly honor of the season after taking top honors in the triple jump with a mark of 13.18 meters before adding a fourth place effort of 6.15 meters in the long jump at the 2022 Mary Grinaker Invitational, hosted by Smith College on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track and Field team returns to action on Saturday, January 14th as they compete at the 2023 Reggie Poyau Memorial Invitational, hosted by Brandeis University.
