Shimiyimana Tabbed Men’s Indoor Track Field of the Week

Worcester, Mass. native collects second weekly accolade of the season 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State senior Eric Shimiyimana (Worcester. Mass.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Field of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The fourth-year Falcon registers his second weekly honor of the season after taking top honors in the triple jump with a DIII NE qualifying mark of 13.20 meters before adding a second place finish in the long jump with a jump of 6.40 meters for the Falcons at the 2023 Reggie Poyau Invite, hosted by Brandeis University on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track and Field team returns to action this weekend as they compete at the 2023 Branwen Smith-King Invite, hosted by Tufts University.
