Bourassa & Guevara Mateo Earn MASCAC Weekly Honors
Bourassa named Field Athlete of the Week; Guevara Mateo tabbed Rookie of the Week
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track senior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Field Athlete of the Week, while freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) was selected MASCAC Men's Indoor Track Rookie of the week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Bourassa notched his third weekly accolade of the season after placing second overall in the weight throw with an All-New England qualifying toss of 17.61 meters before taking top honors in the shotput with an All-NE qualifying throw of 15.18 meters for the Falcons at the 2026 Coast Guard Golden Bear Invite on Friday.
Guevara Mateo registered his fifth weekly honor of the 2026 campaign after placing first overall in the mile with a time of 4:30.33 before finishing second in the 800 meter with a time of 1:58.42 for the Green and Gold at the 2026 Coast Guard Golden Bear Invite on Friday.
The Falcons return to action on Sunday as they compete at the 2026 MASCAC Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted by Wheaton College.
