Monette & Guevara Mateo Collect MASCAC Weekly Honors
Monette named Field Athlete of the Week; Guevara Mateo tabbed Rookie of the Week
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track senior Cameron Monette (Winchendon, MA) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Field Athlete of the Week, while freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) was selected MASCAC Men's Indoor Track Rookie of the week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.
Monette notched his third weekly accolade of the season after finished first overall in the shot put with a toss of 13.21 meters before placing second overall in the weight throw with an All-New England qualifying toss of 17.38 meters for the Falcons at the 2026 USATF NE Championships, hosted by Harvard University on Sunday.
Guevara Mateo registered his seventh weekly honor of the 2026 campaign after placing second overall in the 5000 meter with an All-NE qualifying and new school record time of 14:31.49 for the Green and Gold at the 2026 USATF NE Championships, hosted by Harvard University on Sunday.
The Falcons return to action on Saturday as they compete at the 2026 DIII New England Championships at the New Balance Track.
