Bourassa & Guevara Mateo Collect MASCAC Weekly Honors

Bourassa named Field Athlete of the Week; Guevara Mateo tabbed Rookie of the Week 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Indoor Track senior Liam Bourassa (Shirley, MA) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Men's Indoor Track Field Athlete of the Week, while freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) was selected MASCAC Men's Indoor Track Rookie of the week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Bourassa notched his fifth weekly accolade of the season after placing fifth overall in the weight throw with a toss of 17.24 meters for the Falcons at the 2026 All-New England Championships on Friday before finishing first overall in the weight throw with a mark of 17.85 meters and fourth in the shotput with a toss of 15.53 meters for the Green and Gold at the 2026 Tufts National Qualifier on Saturday.

Guevara Mateo registered his ninth weekly honor of the 2026 campaign after finishing first overall in the 5000 meter with a new school record time of 14:27.90 for the Falcons at the 2026 All-New England Championships, surpassing his previous record time he set earlier this season.

The Falcons return to action on Friday as select members await a bid in the 2026 NCAA DIII Indoor Track & Field Championships at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
