Falcons Soar at Jim Sheehan Invitational

Fitchburg, Mass. – The Fitchburg State University men's outdoor track & field team hosted the annual Jim Sheehan Invitational this morning at Elliot Field.

How it Happened

Freshman Taban Manyok (Lynn, Mass.) led the way for the Falcons, taking top honors in the 5000 meter run (15:47.53), 3000 meter steeplechase (9:59.26) and the high jump (1.75m).

In the discus freshman Nicholas Zeoli (Plymouth, Mass.) earned the top spot with a toss of 38.88M, while junior Rodny Bonhomme (Bridgeport, Conn.) finished in third with a throw of (34.98m). Zeoli finished second in the shot put (12.95m) and sixth in the hammer (33.67m). Bonhomme added a fourth place finish in the hammer throw (36.73m).

Sophomore Nathaniel Felix (Worcester, Mass.) had a pair of top five finishes in the 100 meter dash (4th, 11.44) and the 200 meter dash (2nd, 23.06).

  • Cody Soderlund (Middleboro, Mass.) tied 2nd place in the pole vault (11-00) and 6th in the long jump (5.77m)

  • Chris Morales (Lynn, Mass.) 4th place in the 800 meters (2:04.77) PR
  • Brian O'Sullivan (Templeton, Mass.) 3rd place in the 5000 meters (16:18.64)
