Guevara Mateo Selected MASCAC Track Athlete & Rookie Of The Week

Cambridge, MA native notches third weekly accolades of the season 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Men's Outdoor Track freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) was selected MASCAC Men's Outdoor Track Athlete & Rookie of the week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

Guevara Mateo collected his third weekly honor of the season after placing second overall in the 10,000 meter with an All-New England qualifying and new school record time of 30:12.15 for the Falcons at the Silfen Invitational, hosted by Connecticut College on Friday, surpassing the previous record held by Paul McGovern. Paulino currently ranks 20th nationally in the event.

The Falcons return to action this weekend as they compete at the 2026 Sean Collier Invitational, host by MIT.
