Fitchburg State Hosts 2026 MASCAC OTF Championships, Falcons soar on bright stage
ELLIOT FIELD, FITCHBURG MA - Fitchburg State track and field turned in a standout performance at the 2026 MASCAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships, highlighted by multiple individual titles, school records, dominant efforts in the field events, and strong distance running. The Falcons' depth powered the men's team to a runner-up finish out of six teams, while the women placed 4th overall in a competitive championship meet.
Men's Results
- Jesse Moriello captured the MASCAC title in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 57.98 seconds.
- Sam Edwards placed third in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:10.76.
- Sam Edwards also finished fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 2:01.29.
- Paulino Guevara Mateo claimed the conference title in the 1,500 meters with a time of 3:57.14.
- Paulino Guevara Mateo also won the 5,000 meters in 15:50.40.
- Paulino Guevara Mateo added a runner-up finish in the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.87.
- Michael Burns placed third in the 10,000 meters with a time of 34:57.44.
- Michael Burns also finished fourth in the steeplechase with a time of 11:02.40.
- Josh Lancaster placed fifth in the 10,000 meters with a time of 35:14.66.
- Liam Bourassa delivered a dominant performance, winning MASCAC titles in the hammer throw (58.81m), shot put (15.84m), javelin (69.24m), and discus (45.9m).
- Cam Monette earned second in the hammer throw with a mark of 53.84 meters.
- Cam Monette also placed third in the discus (38.32m) and third in the shot put (13.66m).
- Shamar Richburg placed third in the long jump with a leap of 6.61 meters.
- Shamar Richburg won the triple jump with a mark of 14.12 meters.
- Tyfari Byfield-Felton finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 13.79 meters.
- Emile Rabinovich placed third in the pole vault with a clearance of 3.55 meters.
- Antonio Martinez-Pacheco earned second in the shot put with a throw of 14.48 meters.
- Antonio Martinez-Pacheco also placed third in the discus with a mark of 45.91 meters.
Women's Results
- Skye Goba captured the MASCAC title in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:20.52.
- Taylor Crout recorded a throw of 1st place throw 41.18 meters in the hammer throw.
- Taylor Crout placed second in the shot put with a mark of 10.27 meters.
- Taylor Crout also finished third in the discus with a throw of 32.24 meters.
- Trishannah Scott placed fifth in the long jump with a leap of 5.11 meters.
- Trishannah Scott earned second in the triple jump with a mark of 10.87 meters.
- Makany Camara won the high jump with a clearance of 1.58 meters.
- Makany Camara also captured the MASCAC title in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.96 seconds.
