Men's Cross Country Finishes First At Jim Sheehan Memorial Invite

Leominster, MA. – The Fitchburg State University men's cross-country team placed first overall with a total of 26 points as the Falcons hosted their annual Jim Sheehan Memorial Invitational at the Doyle Conservation Center.

How It Happened
Junior Samuel Edwards (Townsend, MA) led the way for the Green and Gold, finishing first overall with a time of 17:03.94 over the 5K course, while senior Michael Burns (Worcester, MA) was next for the Green and Gold, crossing the line in second place with a time of 17:28.67.
Freshman Paulino Guevara Mateo (Cambridge, MA) followed in fourth place at 17:36,01, while junior Joshua Lancaster (Holden, MA) added a fifth-place time of 17:43.13.
Rounding out the top finishers for the Green and Gold were senior Brady Madigan (Ayer, MA) (19th), junior Lemuel Del Valle (Lawrence, MA) (23rd) and junior Alvaro Castillo-Clottier Jr (Palmer, MA) with times of 19:19.75, 20:14.02 and 20:27.23 respectively.
