Goffstown, N.H. native collects first weekly accolade of the year
Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior pitcher Emma Campbell (Goffstown, N.H.) was recently selected Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) softball pitcher of the week as announced by the conference on Monday afternoon.
The third-year hurler posted an ERA of 2.21 with three strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work over two contests tor the Green and Gold. Campbell collected the win, going 3.1 innings of scoreless relief, allowing just three hits with two K's in a 9-6 triumph over Albertus Magnus on Sunday before yielding two runs on six hits with one strikeout in three innings of work in a 5-4 setback to Iowa Wesleyan in the night cap on Sunday.
The Fitchburg State Softball team (2-1) returns to action on Tuesday as it takes on La Roche and Clarks Summit in day three action of the Fast Pitch Dreams Classic in Myrtle Beach, S.C. at 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM.
