Softball Sweeps Fisher In Non-Conference Double Headers
Raughley & Carrion lead Green & Gold to sweep over Fisher
Melrose, MA. – The Fitchburg State softball team swept the Falcons of Fisher College in a non-conference double header this afternoon from the Pine Banks Park.

How It Happened
Game One
Fitchburg State grabbed an 11-0 advantage in the top of the first as freshman Keegan Kelley (Upton, MA) laced a two-run triple to left field, while sophomore Emily Bennett (Gorham, ME), classmate Izabella Raughley (Hartley, DE), freshman Chloe Bafundo (Southington, CT), newcomer Danika Quinn () and sophomore Paige Konopka (Middlefield, CT) collected RBI's
The Falcons extended the advantage to 17-1 in the top of the second with sophomore Lauren Ahearn (Danvers, MA) and freshman Taylor Marino ()North Easton, MA driving in two runs each before Konopka and Bennett added RBI singles.
The Green and Gold secured the victory in the top of the fifth when Raughley, freshman Isabella Stoodley (Westminster, VT) and sophomore Priscilla Dillon (Glennville, GA) drove in two runs each, resulting in the 30-1 final.

- Dillon led the way for the Falcons, going 2-for-3 with a double, two runs scored and three RBI
- Raughley added one hit, four runs scored and three RBI for the Green and Gold
- Marino picked up her first collegiate win in the circle for Fitchburg State, allowing one run on seven hits and five strikeouts over three innings of work
Game Two
Fitchburg State took a 5-0 advantage in the top of first frame as Dillon collected a two-run single up the middle, while Ahearn and sophomore Carolyn Brodeur (Ashby, MA) added RBI singles. The Falcons pushed the lead to 16-0 in the top of the second with Brodeur, Ahearn and freshman Rylee Freeman (Rockland, MA) notching run scoring single, while newcomer Amaya Carrion (E. Longmeadow, MA) added her first collegiate home run with a grand slam to left field.
The Green and Gold secured the victory in the top of the third as junior Julia Cooper (Lumberton, NJ) laced a two-run triple to center field, while Carrion, sophomore Ariana Baez (Methuen, MA), Dillon, Brodeur and newcomer Kiley Connors (Newington, CT) notching RNI singles, resulting in the 39-0 final.

- Carrion paced the Falcons, going 4-for-6 with a home run, six runs scored and seven RBI
- Brodeur finished 4-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI for the Green and Gold
- Freshman Brianna Lynch (Pittsfield, MA) collected the win for Fitchburg State, giving up no runs and striking out six over three innings pitched
