Women's Lacrosse Falls to Vassar in Spring Fling Tournament
PANAMA CITY, FL: The Fitchburg State women's lacrosse team fell to Vassar this afternoon in nonconference action by a score of 16-2.
THE BASICS:
- Date: 3/11/25
- Score: Vassar 16, Fitchburg 2
- Records: Vassar (4-0), Fitchburg (0-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Autumn Tibbetts (Lunenburg, MA) started the scoring in this one at 14:22 in the first quarter, giving the Falcons a 1-0 lead. The Brewers would then raddle off ten unanswered goals to put them up 10-1. Amelia Poirier would score three within that run for Vassar.
- Fitchburg would score their second and final goal, which ended the ten-goal run. Tibbetts again found the back of the net, this time coming on a free position shot. The Brewers would then close out the half with two more goals, bringing the halftime score to 12-2.
- Vassar would find the net four more times in the second half to get the final of 16-2.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Elizabeth Smith (Plymouth, MA) suffered the loss (0-1) after making three saves and surrendering 12 goals.
- Bree Macmullen got the win (4-0) after allowing two goals and making no saves.
- Shots: Vassar 29, Fitchburg 11
- Draws: Vassar 15, Fitchburg 6
