How It Happened
The University of Saint Joseph opened the contest with a 2-0 advantage as senior Alana Picard (Windsor Locks, CT) and junior Anna LeGault (Colchester, CT) registered markers before Fitchburg State answered back (2-1) with sophomore Nola Patty (Ashburnham, MA) netting her first collegiate score. The Bluejays rattled off three unanswered goals to close out the quarter as Picard, LeGault and freshman Kailey Krusewski (Newington, CT) found the back of the net for the 5-1 lead.
In the second quarter of play, the Falcons battled back to tie the contest at 5-5 with senior Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA), junior Samantha Azzari (Haverhill, MA), Patty and junior Noelle Kennedy (West Roxbury, MA) collecting scores, but the Bluejays would take a 6-5 edge into the break when LeGault netted her third tally of the contest.
Following the intermission, Saint Joseph upped the lead to 7-5 as LeGault registered her fourth marker on the day before Fitchburg responded with three goals when freshman Nevaeh Chiacchia (Monson, MA), junior Hannah Azzari (Haverhill, MA) and Patty connected on scores for the 8-7 advantage, The Bluejays retied the contest (8-8) though when Krusewski found the back of the net for her second score on the day.
In the final period of play, the Falcons secured the victory as Hannah Azzari received feed from Samantha Azzari and buried a shot into the left side of the net for her second marker of the contest, resulting in the 9-8 final.

- Patty added her first three collegiate goals and a draw control for the Green & Gold
