Dave has been involved in lacrosse since before high school, playing for four years at Billerica Memorial High School before joining the Navy. His coaching career began when his daughters were in elementary school. He coached youth lacrosse for two seasons before taking on a leadership role, where he coached and ran the North Middlesex Girls Youth Lacrosse League for three years. In 2014, he became the first varsity girls' head coach at Nashoba Valley Technical High School, a position he held for two seasons. Since 2015, he has been a girls' youth and high school referee and a volunteer coach at FSU
