Camara Selected Women’s Indoor Field Athlete of the Week

Lowell, Mass. native earns first weekly accolade of the season

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State junior Makany Camara (Lowell, Mass.) was recently tabbed Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Field Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The third-year Falcon earned her first weekly honor on the year after finishing third overall in the 60 meter hurdles with a DIII New England qualifying time of 9.57 seconds, while also placing third overall in the high jump with a mark of 1.52 meters for the Green and Gold at the 2023 Reggie Poyau Invite, hosted by Brandeis University on Saturday.

The Fitchburg State Women's Indoor Track and Field team returns to action this weekend as they compete at the 2023 Branwen Smith-King Invite, hosted by Tufts University.
