Goba Selected Women’s Indoor Track Rookie of the Week

Norton. Mass. native picks up second weekly accolade of the season 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State freshman Skye Goba (Norton, Mass.) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women's Indoor Track Rookie Athlete of the Week as announced by the conference office on Tuesday.

The first-year Falcon led the distance medley relay team to a 14th place time of 12:59.72 to set a new school record in the process, surpassing the previous mark of 13:05.07 in 2012, while finishing 24th overall in the 1000 meter with a time of 3:11.65 for the Green and Gold at the 2023 DIII New England Championships over the weekend.

The Fitchburg State Women's Indoor Track and Field team returns to action this weekend as select members await a possible bid into the 2023 NCAA DIII National Championships.
