Filimonov Selected MASCAC Rookie Of The Week

Saint Petersburg, Russia native collects fourth weekly accolade of the season 

Fitchburg, Mass. – Fitchburg State Ice Hockey freshman Aleksei Filimonov (Saint Petersburg, Russia) was recently named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Ice Hockey Rookie of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday afternoon.

Filimonov earned his fourth weekly honor of the season after collecting four points on two goals and two assists in a 2-0 week for the Falcons. Aleksei notched one score in a 5-2 triumph over the Ravens of Franklin Pierce University on Tuesday before adding one goal and two assists in a 4-2 victory against the Pilgrims of New England College on Thursday.

The Fitchburg State Ice Hockey team (10-5-0, 4-1-0 MASCAC) returns to action on Thursday as they host the Rams of Framingham State in non-conference action, starting at 6:30PM.
