Women’s Lacrosse Soars Past AMCATS On Senior Night
St. George nets four goals to Green & Gold
Fitchburg, MA – The Fitchburg State Women's Lacrosse team defeated the AMCATS of Anna Maria, 20-2 this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from Elliot Field on Senior Day as the Falcons honored three seniors playing in their final regular season with the seniors being #6 Sophia Yates, #9 Jessica St. George and #24 Makenzie Alicea.

How It Happened
Fitchburg State grabbed a 6-0 advantage to open the contest as senior Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA) and junior Samantha Azzari (Haverhill, MA) netted a pair of goals, while newcomer Paige Marchand (Rocky Hill, CT) and junior Hannah Azzari (Haverhill, MA) added markers. Anna Maria cut the deficit to 6-1 when Megaan Tegettoff found the back of the net.
In the second quarter of play, the Falcons pushed the lead to 12-1 when St. George completed the hattrick before Nola Patty (Ashburnham, MA), junior Kiley McFadden (Tewksbury, MA), newcomer Layne Thomason (Hudson, MA) and H. Azzari connected on goals.nni
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State extended the margin to 16-1 with Patty, H. Azzari, junior Jeannine Preston (Plymouth, MA) connecting on markers.
In the final period of play, the Green and Gold secured the victory as junior Mykaela Correia (Dracut, MA), classmate Mackenzie Mackin (Auburn, MA), junior Noelle Kennedy (West Roxbury, MA) and St. George netting markers, resulting in the 20-2 final.

- St. George led the way for the Falcons with four goals and three assists as well as one groundball, two draw controls and one caused turnover
- Freshman Reese Curtis (Methuen, MA) finished with five groundballs and four caused turnovers for the Green and Gold
