Fifth Seeded Falcons Topped By Fourth Seeded Rams In MASCAC Quarterfinal Round Action
St. George nets one goal and one assist for Green & Gold
Framingham, MA – The Fitchburg State Women's Lacrosse team dropped an 18-3 decision to the fourth seeded Rams of Framingham State this evening in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) quarterfinal round action from the Maple Street Field.

How It Happened
Framingham State grabbed a 10-0 advantage in the first period of play as Jenna James netted three markers, while Kate McGowen and Madeline Bosna notched two tallies in addition to goals from Aleesia Lye, Katie Pizzardi, and Emma Kendzulak.
In the second quarter of play, the Falcons answered when senior Jessica St. George (Dracut, MA) collected her team leading 30th tally on the season to make the score 10-1. The Rams pushed the advantage to 14-1 going into the break with James registering two markers and scores from Lye and Bosma.
Following the intermission, Fitchburg State cut the deficit to 14-2 when freshman Paige Marchand (Rocky Hill, CT) netted her 12th score of the season. The hosts extended the margin to 16-2 as Lye and Gabrielle Foster struck for scores.
In the final period of play, the Rams upped the lead to 18-2 as Nicole Sheehan and James found the back before the Green and Gold capped the scoring when freshman Layne Thomason (Hudson, MA) notched her 11th goal on the season, resulting in the 18-3 final.
