Women’s Basketball Falls Short to Dean
FITCHBURG, MA: The Fitchburg State women's basketball team suffered a loss this evening to the Bulldogs of Dean College in non-conference action.

- Records: Dean (2-6), Fitchburg (2-4)
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- It was a close game throughout, but Dean maintained their composure and kept the Falcons just out of reach. Azaria Landry and Abigail Lacy played key roles in the Bulldogs' victory tonight, each scoring over 20 points. Landry led with a game-high 22 points, while Lacy finished with 21 points. Lacy also grabbed 12 rebounds to record a double-double.
- The Falcons were led by Kyelah Smith (Bloomfield, CT) and Shanell Smith-Akpan (West Warwick, RI). Smith finished the game with 15 points and 12 rebounds for a double-double. Smith-Akpan also contributed offensively and on the boards, with 14 points and 11 rebounds. She additionally had a team-high five assists.

- Shooting: Dean 33.8% (23-68), Fitchburg 30.6% (22-72)
- Three Point Shooting: Dean 22.7% (5-22), Fitchburg 16% (4-25)
- Free Throw Shooting: Dean 68.2% (15-22), Fitchburg 56.5% (13-23)
