Ryan Connolly, Ice Hockey
Freshman Ryan Connolly (Wappingers Falls, N.Y./New York Applecore) collects his first Soaring Falcon honor of the season after being named Massachusetts State Collegiate Athtletic Conference (MASCAC) ice hockey player of the week as announced by the conference office Sunday afternoon.
Connolly helped guided the Fitchburg State ice hockey team to a 2-0 week, notching eight points on six goals and two assists. The freshman forward tallied four markers and a pair of helpers in the Falcons 10-1 victory over Framingham State on Thursday evening before adding two scores in Fitchburg State's 5-1 win against MASCAC rival Salem State on Saturday afternoon.
The Fitchburg State ice hockey returns to action on Thursday as they visit Worcester State University to take on the Lancers at 5:30 p.m.
